Welcome to The Creative Household!

I am simply delighted that you found my blog! My name is Brittany and I am a country girl at heart! Currently I am working full-time in finance but my true passion lies in being the best wife and homemaker that I can possibly be. I once heard a saying, “Even though my feet may go, my heart will stay at home.” This is truly how I feel everyday when I leave the house for work. My heart is at home, on caring for my husband and our home. I enjoy gardening, cooking and crafting among other things. I love finding new ways to be a good steward by being frugal and creative in all of my homemaking endeavors! I am married to my wonderful husband and best friend, Aaron. We got married at the young ages of 19 and 20, high school sweethearts. Everyday together is an adventure as we are starting out on our very own 1-acre homestead. We dream about becoming more self-sufficient, being 100% debt free (eventually) and building our homestead to be a place where we can spend the rest of our lives together and build a family. Canning Salsa

The reason I am starting this blog is to share our experiences along the way. We have a lot to learn. We don’t always do things the easiest way, but we enjoy what we’re doing and learn from our mistakes, that’s what matters. I will share our ups and our downs, our successes and our failures. Maybe we will save you the hassle of trying things the wrong way;) I want to share my own experiences in the hopes that it will inspire others to improve their homemaking skills and begin the homesteading adventure too! Maybe it’s just planting a small garden in a porch box or maybe it is planting a garden big enough to supply your family with food for the entire winter. Maybe you want to begin using natural products and home remedies. Whatever your hopes and dreams are, I hope that something I say here helps you and inspires you along the way.
