Hello Friends and welcome to The Creative Household! My name is Brittany and I am the girl behind the blog! I am so glad that you found my blog and I hope you enjoy what you’re reading!
Let me share a little bit of background about me…Currently I am working full-time in finance but my true passion lies in being the best wife, mother and homemaker that I can possibly be. I once heard a saying, “Even though my feet may go, my heart will stay at home.” This is truly how I feel everyday when I leave the house for work. My heart is at home, on caring for my son, my husband and our home. I enjoy gardening, cooking and crafting among other things. I love finding new ways to be a good steward by being frugal and creative in all of my homemaking endeavors! I am married to my wonderful husband and best friend, Aaron. We got married at the young ages of 19 and 20, high school sweethearts. In 2017, our family grew when we had our first child! Everyday together is an adventure as we embark on this journey of parenthood.
Now let me share a little bit of background on my blog…I started blogging back in November of 2015, when I was a wife and homemaker working a full-time job. I had a lot of spare time to spend on whatever tasks and activities struck my fancy. Fast forward to one year later, November of 2016 and I found myself about 8 months pregnant: low on energy, busy with the tasks of preparing for the new little one, managing our home, and also balancing my full-time job (up until about 1 1/2 weeks before I gave birth.) Needless to say, over the past year, I have undergone some major life changes. First and foremost, I became a mother for the first time and secondly, I returned to a full-time job after maternity leave transforming me into a working mom. In and of itself, beginning the journey of motherhood has had a profound impact on my outlook on life and my priorities. It has changed me in ways I never dreamed and has brought more joy and excitement into my life that I ever thought possible! My return to my full-time job on top of that has added a whole new dynamic to my life and to the way I manage our household. When I think back to my pre-baby days when I was working full-time, blogging and managing our home, I used to think that my life was so hectic and busy. Looking back now, the only word that comes to my mind is “amateur”…lol! I apparently didn’t know the meaning of the word “busy” back then!
My main priority in life right now is being a good wife & mother, and in order to do that I truly need to focus on being intentional with my time on a daily basis. Adding too many additional tasks & chores to my day has been proving to simply result in exhaustion and stress. I am focusing on minimizing the activities that just seem to be adding to my plate. I have also been developing routines that cut down on stress and add structure and simplicity to our days. I have found that the more routines and good habits I have in place, the easier life seems to be!
My renewed vision for the blog is to provide inspiration, ideas and solutions for daily life to women of all ages and stages of life. Young, single ladies, newlyweds, young mothers and beyond! I truly hope that by sharing my story and my life experiences that I will be able to help others on their own personal journeys! I will provide ideas and inspiration that will help transform the way that you manage your own home. Reducing stress, increasing your productivity, and running your home efficiently are just a few things I hope to help you with! I will also show you how to transform your house into a home, adding your own personal style, one room at a time! I will share with you the importance of taking time for yourself, time to have fun with your family, and time to pursue activities that inspire your creative side!
