Welcome to the second post in my Simple Crockpot Recipe Series! Throughout this series, I will be sharing my favorite recipes to toss together and throw in the crockpot! Not only are these recipes simple to make but they are also frugal! Most of the ingredients you probably already have in your pantry or freezer.
Spring is finally here! So this recipe may seem a little out-of-place but we are still having some pretty chilly days and nights around here! Chili is a perfect comfort food for a cool evening. The recipe I’m sharing today is my mom’s recipe and my favorite!
Not only is this chili delicious, but it also has made it onto my list of super simple crockpot recipes! It has limited ingredients and only takes about 15 minutes to toss together in the morning. Let it simmer all day and you’ll come home to the delicious aroma of dinner!
4 cans diced tomatoes (If using home-canned stewed tomatoes, use 2 quarts)
1 can chili beans
1 can tomato paste
1 packet chili seasoning
1 lb ground meat (I use venison but you can use beef or whatever you prefer!)
1/2 onion, chopped
Cook the ground meat until brown, add the chopped onion near the end.
Add all ingredients to your crockpot and stir together.
Cook for 4-6 hours on low in your crockpot.
Last step is to enjoy!
